Alexander Haus Main is the lower portion of a delightfully restored two story house originally built in 1910. The house was abandoned for some time before we tackled its renewal in 2021. Each room received a total update, but the wainscoting was preserved and the wood floors are original. The full kitchen is completely remodeled and features a dining table for six, an island breakfast bar or prep station, dishwasher, and views of the River!  Two bedrooms, each with new queen bed make sleeping four people very comfortable. One full bathroom, with tub/shower is connected to the primary bedroom and has also been completely updated.  Large second story covered porch offers space for dining, grilling, and lounging. Newly installed stairs to the lower patio allow for easy access to the River and the outdoor shower. Backyard picnic table and fire ring make Alexander Haus the perfect riverside vacation to come and stay awhile!

 

Located on the North end of the property, Alexander Haus feels more neighborhood than campground, but you can still easily access the camp Beaches and Firepit. There is parking for two vehicles and the entry is level.

Amenities

  • Two large bedrooms each with a queen-sized bed, and well-appointed linens.

  • One full bathroom, with tub/shower combo. Bathroom is connected to main bedroom, but also opens to hallway

  • Spacious living room offers large couch and two chairs.

  • Eat-in kitchen with electric oven/range, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, refrigerator, and dishwasher. 

  • Kitchen well outfitted for full meal prep. 

  • Dining table in the kitchen seats 6 comfortably. 

  • Mini-splits for heat and AC. One in each bedroom and kitchen

  • Ceiling Fans in each room

  • TV with satellite in each bedroom and living room 

  • Fire ring and picnic table by the river

  • Lovely covered back porch with a variety of seating options

  • Gas grill on covered back porch, gas supplied

  • Wi-Fi is available. Most cell phones have coverage.

Camp Driftwood Asheville is located on Old Marshall Highway-AKA River Rd. The Camp spans a third of a mile of river frontage along the French Broad River and allows guests access to unique spaces on the river-right from the property. Swim, fish, paddle, or tube the Ancient River. Enjoy one of the most popular road biking sections in the area-right from the property. Ride for miles with the River as your map!

We cannot host Campers or RV's.  Camp Driftwood is not appropriate for small children.  Guests 12 and under need prior management approval.
